About Me
Li strappo, li sovrappongo, li nascondo e li faccio riemergere.
Li ricompongo fino a quando diventano qualcos'altro.
Un nuovo significato. Una nuova storia.
È quello che facciamo anche noi.
Siamo madri e donne.
Siamo forti e fragili.
Siamo razionali e carnali.
I'm Alice and for a long time, I thought I had to choose just one version of myself.
I followed a path that seemed to be the right one.
I did what was expected of me. I followed rules, roles and responsibilities.
Then, I stopped.
And I realized that there was a part of me I had kept silent for far too long.
The part that wanted to create.
I didn't know exactly where it would take me.
I only knew that whenever I started putting together images, words, colours and fragments of paper, something inside me finally began to make sense.
Collage is the way I look at the world.
I love taking images, words, advertising and familiar brands and pulling them out of their original context.
I tear them, layer them, hide them and let them emerge again.
I rearrange them until they become something else.
A new meaning.
A new story.
I believe we do the same thing with ourselves.
We are mothers and women.
Strong and fragile.
Rational and sensual.
We are the people we chose to become, and sometimes the people we are still brave enough to desire.
We are never just one thing.
We are made of experiences, desires, roles, wounds, dreams, choices and contradictions.
And perhaps growing doesn't mean becoming one final version of ourselves.
Perhaps it means having the courage to rearrange the pieces.
